Support was also given to The Battlefords Youth Network who hosted their first Youth Forum at the Don Ross Centre on November 16, 2018. Youth from all three local high schools participated in discussions and activities to explore their experience in their community, which included understanding and acknowledgment of each other’s journey and story brainstorming new community initiatives that are specific to the youth experience and reconciliation.
SAGE Coalition
In October 2018, we supported the SAGE Coalition project. This is a multi-government steering coalition which is focused on building stronger relationships and creating a common agenda between municipal leaders, surrounding First Nation Chiefs, Indigenous leaders and Elders. This is a crucial step in building a Coalition that will work collaboratively for all communities to meet challenges and find long-term strategic solutions that work for everyone.
